History of the Company
The Company was incorporated under the Act and registered in England and Wales on 10 October 1997 with the registered number 3447841 as a private limited company, under the name Techteam Limited. The Company was renamed Hartford Group Limited on 12 February 1998 and subsequently re –registered, as a public limited company, under the name Hartford Group Plc on 19 February 1998. The liability of the members is limited and the principle legislation under which the Company operates is the Act.
Hartford's original strategy was to expand fine-dining experience in affluent neighbourhoods. However, in December 2000 it became apparent that this format was not as successful as originally intended. Consequently, the board was reorganised and a strategic review took place, and refocused the buisness towards a greater emphasis on the drinks lead business. Following this the Company refocused the business towards greater emphasis the drinks led business.
In September 2002 the Company purchased Jamies Bars Plc, Henry J Bean’s in September 2005 and more recently 7 Sites from Puzzle Pub Company Ltd. In addition to the above the Company has bought and sold a number of individual sites.
In March 2006 the Company changed its name to The Food & Drink Group PLC, and at the same time completed a Capital Reduction and Reorganisation.
The Company paid its maiden preliminary dividend in March 2007 and maiden interim dividend in July 2007.
